In Hades, the walls of the Olympics shine brighter and the shadows move more disgustingly. God of War 3 has looked great for the past five years, and with the new textures and lighting, it looks even better now. I don't like how characters like Hermes and Hercules are introduced and made vague, and the ending, which doesn't build up to anything, always leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth. This makes it hard for newcomers to understand since they might wonder why half of the Olympians are dead when the story starts or why Kratos is so mean to people who think they are on his side.Įven though I've played all of the games before it, I always think that God of War III is the worst. There is a short recap video, but if you've never played before, it won't give you all the background you need. It also assumes that you have finished all of the previous games, including Ready at Dawn: Chains of Olympus and Sparta's Fantasy for PSP. God of War 3 Remastered is a good place to start putting together Sony's series because it picks up right where God of War 2 ended on a cliffhanger. The "meh" storyline is still a small problem, but the great battles and acts brought it back to my mind.
These graphics make Kratos' last attempt to get back at the Olympian gods for what they did to him much better (although not yet adequate for the particular PS4 game). God of War 3 Remastered for the PlayStation 4 brings back the excitement of a threequel by adding a 1080p resolution and a slowly increasing frame rate of around 60 frames per second, as well as textures and lighting effects that can be described as extremely realistic. I'm sure that God of War 3 Remastered is the best of the series. But Sony Santa Monica did a great job of putting an end to Kratos's search for revenge. The war is awesome, bloodier than ever, and one of the best games of all time. It's not perfect because the plot and development are a little bit all over the place, but it's still a great package.
