In the wake of Alien, Giger created designs for Poltergeist II: The Other Side and Species, and in the early ’90s, he was even approached to do some design work on Batman Forever. Without Giger’s game-changing creation, even Ridley Scott admits, Alien probably wouldn’t even exist, but the Swiss artist’s contributions to the world of cinema don’t start and stop with the Alien franchise. Giger is of course most known for designing the Xenomorph in the original Alien, one of the most iconic monsters in the history of cinema.
